[Psychiatric aspects of autocastration]. Psychiatr Hung. 2011;26(2):128-31 Authors: Gyuris J In 1982, first time in Hungary, the author published the detailed description of a transsexual, schizophrenic patient performing autocastration and reviewed the literature. Later,in 1988, he described 2 more cases of them, this time jointly observed and treated with urologist. As since the early 1980's no publication dealing with autocastration has appeared in Hungary, the author now reviews the current literature as well as the other recent possibilities of therapeutical microreplantation and individual and family therapeutical possibilities. A part of the paper introduces the current international literature of female autocastration. PMID: 21653998 [PubMed - in process]  The TS-Si Research Service consolidates information on research initiatives and findings relevant to the misalignment of brains and anatomical sex. The service tracks key scientific and medical developments from early consideration of research opportunities and published findings through practical application in clinical settings.Researchers and students from qualifying institutions regularly receive special emailings from TS-Si that consist of abstracts and other materials that support their interest areas.
