Lisa Thompson & Sharon Gaughan Friday, 09 December 2011 Atlanta, GA, USA. A sex discrimination decision by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Glenn v. Brumby et. al. (6 December 2011), is an important victory for civil rights advocates, establishing numerous and important points of law.
The decision affirms that sex-discrimination statutes and court decisions apply equally to transsexuals. Discrimination based on nonconformity to gender expectations inherently constitutes sex discrimination.

Lisa Thompson & Sharon Gaughan Sunday, 23 October 2011 Fairfax, VA, USA. It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. Darkness lay across the face of the void and we don’t have a dime to our name.
They told us growing up we were building a dream. They said go to school and jobs would be there. When there were cars to make and guns to bear we were right there. Peace and glory lay ahead.

Gender Identity? We may as well shine some sunshine in that direction. It isn’t that we will be gratefully welcomed into the discussion. Our interests lie in science and living a full life, not dime-a-dozen social studies or gender theory.
But we are women and females, neither of us a male campaigning for acceptance as a woman because he wishes to present as one today. His world is not a woman's world. His world is not ours.

Lisa Thompson & Sharon Gaughan Saturday, 02 July 2011 Fairfax, VA, USA. Case study research represents an important opportunity for transsexual inquiry, with benefits that extend to the entire population.
For many years, there was little meaningful investigation into transsexualism, with efforts largely confined to particularly undisciplined versions of social science research. The full array of scientific tools lay unappreciated and unused, with scant attention and funding for biology, hard data collection, analysis, experiments, surveys, multipl

Lisa Thompson & Sharon Gaughan Monday, 01 September 2008 Springfield, VA, USA. Here at TS-Si.org, we have unusually good discussions with our readers. Some people comment in public (see the comment block at the bottom of this column), while others choose to send us private mail via our Contact Form. The questions we get are numerous and sometimes the comments argue conflicting views of just where our judgment is defective.
We are charged with all sorts of mutually contradictory crimes against humanity depending upon the viewp |

Lisa Thompson & Sharon Gaughan Tuesday, 19 August 2008 Fairfax, VA, USA. What is a transsexual? Is there such a thing as a non-op transsexual? What is the difference between a non-op transsexual and a full time crossdresser? Are transgender and transsexual just different spellings for the same thing? Why are so many people now saying they are transsexual now?
Why have so many post-ops started using the alternative terms in place of transsexuality in an attempt to clarify their position on the subject?
The answer to these questions and more lay in

Washington, DC, USA. The alarm goes off at five in the morning, we are due at the festival at eight where we will assemble our booth, put up banners and signs, place handouts strategically to be distributed.
The rain the night before prevented us from loading the car, so we spend an hour or so demonstrating how much stuff can fit in an aging Buick. We bring everything we have we think we’ll need, only enough to fill up the day so that the trip back will be somewhat lighter.

Lisa Thompson & Sharon Gaughan Sunday, 18 May 2008 Springfield, VA, USA. Individuals born with Harry Benjamin Syndrome (HBS) present a unique opportunity for researchers to assess the existence and implications of an interesting and persistent birth condition. In light of previous work on decoding the human genome and the emergent 1000 Genomes Project, study of the HBS population can illuminate the origin of HBS and its treatment, while offering a useful baseline when assessing other medical variations potentially detectable via genomic stu |

Lisa Thompson & Sharon Gaughan Sunday, 02 December 2007 Fairfax, VA, USA. TS-Si.org is not a “tranny” site. It is a professionally run science and medicine resource and a journalistic and legal watchdog that covers the frontiers of research on the human animal.
We especially scout those frontiers that might shed light on the birth condition known as transsexualism and those born with it.
