Manchester, UK. In England people born transsexual have achieved significant restoration of their human rights through the Law. There is protection under the Sex Discrimination Act and the Single Equality Act, and the 2004 Gender Recognition Act provides a corrected birth certificate. The protected characteristic is gender reassignment. Put simply, “It is discriminatory to treat people who propose to start to or have completed a process to change their gender less favorably”. Protection extends to non discrimination on all goods and services, including healthcare and insurance. Gender reassignment is not defined and there is no requirement for surgery to obtain a corrected birth certificate. So the people who choose to identify as transgender people are covered! Most importantly, though, it protects transsexual-born people from others revealing their former name or sex or even recording it. There are no exceptions for any of the Government Departments, The Health Services, Local Government, or its Agencies. ![]() I challenge everyone who says they believe in Human Rights to support the right for a child to delay their puberty so that they are not damaged by experiencing the wrong one. There is now more than adequate science to deduce that people born transsexual know that they have a total imbalance between the sex of their brain and the sex of their body. And they know this long before the “social science of gender” is even apparent to them. There is more than adequate science to know that intervention before puberty will produce the best possible result before the mostly irreversible changes of sexual maturity occur. No child should be forced to undergo a physically and mentally damaging puberty to justify medical diagnosis. No child must be forced into a damaging puberty because of their parents religious or prejudiced views. The medical establishment must recognise that people born transsexual have a self-diagnosed medical condition and that refusing to accept the individual child’s personal reasoned assessment is a form of torture. The important point is that children born transsexual know with absolute certainty that they are not the sex they have been allocated.Of course the individual has to battle hard to keep these protections. The laws were achieved not by consent but by forcing the UK Government to enact them through the obligations of the European Human Rights Acts (which are now part of English Law). The laws are not perfect, as no law is, but they are all workable. Regrettably though, we do have a systemically prejudiced Department of Health which deliberately and rather perversely supports the Trans political agenda to protect the religious and heterosexual caucasian supremacists from the gay and lesbian menace — as they see it. The latest Trans consultation by HM Government reveals substantive problems caused by endemic ignorance and prejudice in the UK's public health care. The advice I gave seven years after the Gender Recognition Act remains in place: Go private and escape the politics. Despite the ongoing ignorance, there is only one remaining fundamental right that we now have to win: secure the unrestricted right to puberty delaying medicines for our children. The Establishment in England wants to keep an outdated prejudicial definition of a mental illness called gender dysphoria which the charlatan psychiatrists of the National Health Service (NHS) state can only occur post-puberty. They also — despite all evidence — refuse to accept that genital reconstruction is a cure! However the NHS psychiatrists can be successfully ignored on that bit of prejudice, as I’ve proved. To believe that gender dysphoria is a range that requires talking therapies and only occurs post-puberty is a denial of scientific fact. It is sheer bigotry and any medical person who believes that to be true must stand aside from all involvement in child health care or protection. The transsexual medical condition is not the social science construct of gender where surgery may be appropriate. It is absolutely fundamental as people who have battled their way past the wall of ignorance and prejudice to obtain surgical sex reconstruction can testify. In England, the Trans / Queer political lobby attempts to drown out the voices of the 2,500 or so women with transsexual history. The men who adopt the transgender woman’s lifestyle, and insist they speak on behalf of those born with a transsexual medical condition, do not see intervention pre-puberty as the number one issue. If they were really were our representatives then the issue of children having unrestricted access to puberty delaying medicine would now be top of the agenda. In reality it doesn’t even feature, as they seek social science binary sex deconstruction. In England a female child is legally entitled to birth control drugs with full legal protection of anonymity; the prescribing Doctor is legally obliged NOT to inform the parents. Therefore it is discriminatory not to provide puberty delaying drugs to women born transsexual on exactly the same basis of anonymity. This is the only missing Human Right for all transsexual (and even dare I say it, some transgender) children and that is now the number one issue. Again: I challenge everyone who says they believe in Human Rights to support the right for a child to delay their puberty so that they are not damaged by experiencing the wrong one. I suggest as a start the following letter to your Member of Parliament. Dear Member of ParliamentI am writing to express my deep disquiet that the Department of Health is still perpetuating 20th century sociological judgments and ignoring science: specifically, the right of children born transsexual to delay their puberty so as to avoid the physical and mental damage of undergoing the wrong one.
Children born transsexual must be granted anonymity of this choice in the same way as children (below the age of consent) who currently enjoy protection from the physical and mental damage of unwanted pregnancy. Genital reconstructive surgery is known to cure gender dysphoria and once a child reaches the age of legal independence then the Mental Capacity Act ensures that they can implement this surgery if they so choose. The effectiveness of this surgery — in terms of placing an adult in society with the total capability of integration into their true sex — is dramatically enhanced by the earliest possible intervention. Therefore, I respectfully ask you to request in Parliament that HM Government instruct all General Practitioners to make prescriptions for puberty-delaying drugs anonymously available with no preconditions to any child that requests them. Yours sincerely, A concerned Citizen. PostscriptIt can be argued that failure by the State to make puberty-delaying drugs anonymously available to children is a form of sex discrimination and a breach of their Human Rights.
It would be a clear signal of the UK commitment to Human Rights that this change is implemented without people born transsexual having to force it through by again going to the European Court of Human Rights.
