Manchester, England. In the Hollywood version of the life of Oliver Cromwell he is confronted by a sneering, condescending party of the Establishment and taunted by the leader there with the words But we have the majority. At which point he bangs the floor with his staff and a detachment of the Army marches in and Cromwell rises to his feet and says Gentlemen, I think you will find I now have the majority. [N1] OK, that wasn't strictly historically accurate, the reality was that Colonel Pride prevented a list of Members from entering Parliament and Cromwell arrived later. This ended the Divine Right of Kings in 1648 and laid the foundations of the great democracies and constitutions of England and America. [N2] The similarity between the Queer or Trans lobby and the status of women is obvious. We have a group of unaccountable, unelected Queer/Trans politicians that has pulled off a con-trick in the name of discrimination and equality that demeans the status of all women by disguising their objective of male dominance. Put simply, they have a majority in the Trans world that says it is acceptable for a woman to have a penis and continue to reproduce in their assigned birth sex. And if you don't agree it's an infringement of their human rights, they have the support of Her Majesty’s Government and the Equality and Human Rights Commission and, by aligning with the Gay movement, a formidable lobby of voters that politicians feel they can't ignore. [N3] "You cannot create a better society by force and the Queer/Trans lobby is not ending the divine right of men and religions to dominate women. It is reinforcing it but provoking a backlash that could quite conceivably take us back over 100 years."But — and it is a big BUT — they avoid the core issue for women that a man with a penis no matter how well he is dressed or disguised by breast enhancement or facial feminisation is still a man and therefore must be treated with caution. So, let's see some simple mathematics in England: roughly 60 million people, half of them female; let’s say 10% of women think it's OK for a woman to have a penis and 50% of the men think so too. This ludicrously overstates the Queer/Trans support but we can afford to as the result is 42 million say it's not right that a women can have a penis and 18 million say it is! So who has the majority now, Mr. Politician? I think, Gentlemen, we do. This, of course, is the first lesson to learn: use our majority to influence legislation. The link between physical and reproductive capabilities should not be is not lost in affirming the legitimate human right to grant full legal status as women to those who have permanently and irreversibly demonstrated their transition from the sex assigned to them at birth. Any less than this infringes the human rights of women and is discrimination by men. Now in writing this article I have tried to use simple language. As in Part 2 of this series, my good friend Linda pointed out the deliberate confusion of language and definitions used by the Queer/Trans lobby and the psychiatrists and male fantasists that are so keen to support them. [cf. Series Summary] For example Transbian is a wonderful word that could mean two men who don't consider themselves gay having sex with each other (most likely) or a lesbian woman in transition(less likely)? Then, when does a cross dresser become a transvestite or a transgender or a transsexual. And what about the secret hairy panty wearer? Oh dear, oh dear, this gets so confusing for women? No, hang on: it doesn't really, as they are all men. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop at language amongst men for men as anyone who glances at DSM-5 proposals will see instantly that the old male trick of using psychiatry to define acceptable behaviour in society is alive and well. [N4] Some of the charlatans who claim to be gender specialists even believe you can force change through intense therapy with children. [N5] Men cannot separate sex, including fantasy, from core Women know differently. Women know that the brain is fundamentally binary (male or female) and made so before conscious thought is perceived in the child. Women are instinctive about their commitment to children whilst men at best know which way is up and leave the messy bits to the girls. Women know that if someone has the birth defect of a penis they must remove it whilst men cannot conceive of giving up their “Crown Jewels” [N6]. No group of women would have produced the Standards of Care or analysis or definitions that male dominated psychiatry uses. As women, we allow men to dominate on most issues. But as regards our rights, as women, we have to be clear and use simple language: male and female or man and woman. That is the second lesson to learn. The hardest lesson is the final one and it took me through some anguish as, like most women that have had to correct a birth defect, I have met people along the journey who variously describe themselves as transgender or transsexual or gay or lesbian or bisexual, etc. I have no issues with any of them and I respect their rights to be whatever they know they truly are (be it driven by sex or identity). The ones that are sure of who they are have stayed friends and I cherish those friendships and do not want to do anything that harms them in any way. I've learnt though my life's experiences that society is just a collection of individuals with diverse views and needs. However, the common ones — as I indicated in Part 1 of this trilogy — are security of employment, health care and integration into society. You cannot create a better society by force and the Queer/Trans lobby is not ending the divine right of men and religions to dominate women. It is reinforcing it but provoking a backlash that could quite conceivably take us back over 100 years. Men conveniently forget that it was only in 1918 that the Representation of the People Act (1918) gave all women over 30 and all men over 21 the vote. Note the age difference! After all, men would hate young females to do anything other than look attractive and produce babies. Things haven't changed much really. So the third and final lesson to learn is to respect the individual and not use bogus social science or psychiatric nonsense or invented mental illness that hinders integration and creates discrimination. I'll end with these words taken from Quaker faith & practice (the Big Red Book) as they sum up my position perfectly:
Go in Peace and God Bless America. Notes[N1] Oliver Cromwell (25 April 1599 – 3 September 1658) was an English military and political leader. He is best known as a key figure in the transition of England into a republican Commonwealth. The British public generally reatds him as one of the Top 10 Britons of all time (BBC poll, 2002). However, some historians view Cromwell's actions against Irish Catholics as genocidal. He is widely hated in Ireland.
[N2] Thomas Pride (em>d. 23 October 1658) is best known as the instigator of "Pride's Purge" of parliament in the English Civil War. He caused the arrest or exclusion of about 100 members, reducing its size to about 80, sufficent to bring Charles the king to trial. Pride, then a regimental Colonel, was one of the judges and signed the king's death-warrant. [N3] The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is a government body established in Great Britain by the Equality Act 2006. It also has responsibility for the other aspects of equality: age, sexual orientation and religion or belief, as well as human rights. The EHRC consolidates three former commissions: the Commission for Racial Equality, the Equal Opportunities Commission and the Disability Rights Commission. [N4] The Manual for Diagnosis of Mental Disorders (DSM) is the principal desktop diagnostic reference for psychiatric diagnosis. Used by physicians and other caregivers in the United States and around the world, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) published the current edition, DSM-IV, in 1994. While influential, there is considerable variation in its acceptance and practical application. The APA named the Work Groups and membership for the next DSM-V revision, scheduled an early draft for comment (due in 2010), and plans on completion of the final version in May 2013. The APA stresses there will be a greater emphasis on evidence-based medicine. [N5] Kenneth J. Zucker is a psychologist and sexologist who heads the child and adolescent gender identity clinic at Toronto's Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Zucker has developed a reputation for being an authority in the field of gender identity disorder in children. His status is disputed by a growing number of professionals and activists who consider his methods unscientific and potentially dangerous. Zucker and his colleagues advocate reparative therapy. They view this approach as a positive way to reduce social ostracism, prevent long-term psychopathological development, and reduce the chances of what they call adult GID (transsexualism). They characterize the latter as undesirable. [N6] Crown Jewels in the British context is a phrase of body parts slang. Some usage refers to only the penis or only the testicles, and some to both. For a male, his Crown Jewels are his defining and most valuable assets. In America, the reference is most often to his Family Jewels (specifically, his testicles). [N6] The Representation of the People Act (1918) (aka the Qualification of Women Act was passed by the English Parliament as part of reforms to the United Kingsom's electoral system. Also known as the Fourth Reform Act, it was the first suffrage measure that included the majority of men and began the inclusion of women. In America, women were allowed to vote in New Jersey from 1790 until 1807 if they satisfied certain property qualifications. However, that right was withdrawn in 1807. Limited grants of the franchise on the state level occured by the end of the nineteenth century (in Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. National voting rights for women were enfranchised by the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constotution, which prohibited state and federal agencies from gender-based restrictions on voting (ratified in 1920).
