Sacramento, CA, USA. Does this policy mean that Catholic school girls can wear patent leather shoes?

The Sacramento Bee reports that the Christian Brothers’ High School in Sacramento has reacted to the girls' ever shorter skirts by banning skirts and dresses altogether. The girls, just like the boys, will be required to wear pants or long shorts to the school.

The Media Ranger newsroom has an historic and personal interest in the Christian Brothers High School.

We sympathize, even identify, with their desire to eliminate the boys congregating under the stairways to watch the girls climbing the steps.

We note with amusement, however, the changing social milieu. We remember when most schools, including Christian Brothers, required girls to wear skirts or dresses to class.

There is, however, a greater social question. Generations of men have formed sexual fantasies involving Catholic High School girls and their uniforms – the white blouses, plaid skirts, and knee high socks. What is to become of them?

Will their male fantasies be re-directed to girls in khaki slacks and white shirts? How will they distinguish the straight parochial school girls from the nubile parochial young lesbians?

If the Christian Brothers’ no skirts policy is the beginning of the trend, what then of the transvestites? Will they now need to get off on wearing khaki pants? The social implications are staggering.

One last socially significant question only the good Brothers can answer: does this skirtless policy mean that Catholic school girls can wear patent leather shoes?
