To do this, we pursue long-needed corrections to preconceptions that unfairly bias social development, public policy, and service delivery.

• There is too little hard scientific investigation into the source and implications associated with the misalignment of an individual's innate neurobiology and external genitalia (in its basic form, referred to as transsexualism).
  
  
• Even TS patients in a sound medical program are routinely deprived of equal protection under the law.
  
  
• The media routinely permit social and religious preconceptions to bias reporting and discourage public acceptance.
  
  
• Support services for TS individuals are fragmented, inconsistent, uninformed, and — in many locations — they simply do not exist at all.
  
  
• Discussions among people interested in these topics too often degenerate into vague and partisan theorizing detached from scientific investigation and hard facts.

The TS-Si Research Service consolidates information on research initiatives and findings relevant to the misalignment of brains and anatomical sex. The service tracks key scientific and medical developments from early consideration of research opportunities and published findings through practical application in clinical settings.

Researchers and students from qualifying institutions regularly receive special emailings from TS-Si that consist of abstracts and other materials that support their interest areas.
