Fairfax, VA, USA. It is time to cut through the clutter: TS-Si is dedicated to the acceptance, medical treatment, and legal protection of individuals correcting the misalignment of their brains and their anatomical sex, while supporting their transition into society.

We changed our name to TS-Si and tightened our Mission Statement to focus on those individuals who work toward changing their anatomical sex. This is a natural evolution, one that sharpens emphasis on the interests of people we serve. We based our previous name on a historic and proven medical condition (transsexualism), the naming of which can vary across medical specialties.

The new name gives us room to grow, while maintaining links with our collective history. Moreover, the continued use of the word “transsexual” in our name would play into the hands of the crossdressers and transgenderists who use transsexuality as a cover for their own unrelated goals.

Crossdressers and transgenderists purposely cloudy the waters to serve their own, non-transsexual, objectives. They use any means to deliberately confuse the public. We reluctantly concluded that these are the facts of life:

• There are many more crossdressers and transgenderists than there are people born transsexual.
  
  
• Most of the crossdressers and transgenderists are male.
  
  They dominate public conversation through sheer numbers, focusing the discussion on their concerns at the expense of all others, especially those born transsexual.
  
  
• Transsexuals are not transgendered. Crossdressers and transgenderists intentionally confuse the public by unilaterally aggregating transsexuals under the transgenderist Big T political umbrella.
  
  
• All of this harms the needs and hinders the treatment of people born transsexual.

By changing our name to TS-Si and making our mission statement specific (changing anatomical sex), we remove a political weapon from the hands of the crossdressers and transgenderists. We are not transgendered, we are not crossdressers; they are not born transsexual.

In concert with many other men and women born transsexual around the world, we definitively remove ourselves from the Big T political umbrella. When asked the difference between the transgenderists and the crossdressers and ourselves, the answer is simple:

We were born transsexual
Our anatomical sex was misaligned at birth

Hormone replacement, surgery, & social immersion sets things right

We are not, and never have been,
Transgendered.
