Early LGBT Ally
California, USA. Dr. Vern Bullough, noted historian and sexologist, and a longtime supporter of the LGBT community, died of cancer on June 21 at his home in Southern California.Dr. Vern Bullough was 77.
"From at least the early 1960s, Bullough was what we now call an ally with the gay community," said writer and historian Stuart Timmons. "
That was an unheard of and brave thing to do in those days, that an academic professional would lend his name and prestige to GLBT organizations and efforts."
